Looking for a fun day out for young and old alike? Come to Museum Amersfoort and enjoy a day full of stories, activities and surprises.
Using a special fold-out booklet (in dutch), you can explore the ‘Amorfortia: a city full of stories’ exhibition together and discover tales of Amersfoort in old paintings and unusual artefacts. Make a print of a pilgrim’s symbol, draw in the missing parts of a famous painting, search for well-known buildings in the city and visit the multimedia model of the city. Can you find them all?
Did your visit spark your imagination? In the Maak Mee Atelier, people of all ages can get creative with the stories from the museum.
Celebrate the city with us! On Saturday 17 October, you can visit Museum Amersfoort for free. Explore the exhibitions, join a speed tour, create your own art, listen to music and play traditional Amersfoort games. A festive day full of stories and new encounters for young and old alike.

Did you know that you’re welcome to visit the Museum Café and terrace at Museum Amersfoort even if you’re not visiting the museum? Right in the heart of the historic city centre, you’ll find a lovely spot to take a breather, meet up with friends or enjoy a bite to eat and a drink together.** Come and join us for an affordable cup of coffee or tea with a tasty treat. Find a spot at one of the large tables or, weather permitting, take a seat on the terrace. From here, you can look out over the Koppelpoort, one of Amersfoort’s most famous landmarks.

Is playing just for children? Not at all! Playing may not have a specific goal, but it helps you to stay creative and discover unexpected ideas. In the exhibition, you saw how Carla Kogelman photographs people of all ages while they play. Now it's your turn in the Maak Mee Atelier. Choose a play table and explore on your own or together. Build a crazy tower, create something with clay, or try one of the other activities. Take photos of each other while playing, print your favourite with the small photo printer, and add it to the mini gallery in the Maak Mee Atelier.
